The Executive Education department numbers 20 people who together market, sell, design and deliver a range of open and customised development programmes at post-experience level. Our clients are typically managers and professionals working for a diverse range of organisations operating locally and internationally who want to develop themselves in the areas of leadership and business management. Within the Executive Education Department, we have a vacant position for an energetic and ambitious Director Marketing & Sales (fulltime).

Job Position:

The Director of Marketing & Sales reports to the Dean of Executive Education. (S)he leads the Marketing & Sales team to contribute to the departmental aim to ensure a constant and growing flow of satisfied customers, meeting set conversion and sales targets. (S)he works in close and continuous cooperation with the Director Executive Programmes to develop new programmes based on market opportunities, meeting set growth and development targets. (S)he works in close and constant cooperation with the Programme Managers’ team leader to optimize the customer journey, through the various stages of the sales-, delivery and after-sales pipelines, meeting occupancy, quality and sales targets. (S)he works in close and constant cooperation with Executive Assistant to provide accurate and relevant performance data on relevant KPI’s to the Management Team and operational teams.

Aim of the Job:

  • Achieve continuous occupancy, turnover and profitability growth in both Open and Customized programs through the development and execution of a marketing and sales strategy;
  • Build and maintain an effective customer relations network with former and prospective clients;
  • Achieve a good and consistently improving ranking position in the FT rankings for Open and Customized;
  • Achieve an appealing good and consistently growing portfolio of profitable Open and Customized programmes that fit client’s needs and capitalizes on RSM’s resources;
  • Entertain good working relations with other Marketing & Sales departments within RSM, to create school wide synergies and enhance overall impact and efficiency.

Tasks:

  • Acts as member of the Executive Education Management Team and contributes to the quality of management in the Executive Education Department;
  • Leads the Marketing & Sales team in initiating, developing and executing marketing and sales strategies and policies for marketing communications, lead generation and lead nurturing;
  • Leads the Marketing & Sales team in managing the marketing, sales and after-sales pipeline using appropriate analytics, and assures the appropriate use and the quality of input and output of the CRM system.
  • Develops a systematic and operational understanding of market dynamics, demands and opportunities including competitor, benchmark, ranking and CRM analyses, and assures the use of these analyses throughout the department;
  • Proposes and initiates policies and actions to improve the FT ranking position and process in Open and Customised programmes;
  • Proposes and initiates policies and actions to support continuous improvement and renewal of the programme portfolio, based on these analyses;
  • Interfaces with Executive Education colleagues, the Executive Education Council and RSM faculty to exploit cross selling opportunities for with the overall educational portfolio of RSM;
  • Leads and develops the Marketing & Sales team, achieving an optimal and efficient structure and workflow in the team;
  • Manages the human resources in the Marketing & Sales team, setting annual objectives and holding periodic reviews, and create a supportive yet challenging environment for the team.

Education: MSc in a relevant discipline.

Experience / Skills:

  • Knowledge Approximately 10 years working experience in marketing ideally in an post-experience education setting;
  • At least 5 years managerial experience, building, coaching and developing Marketing & Sales teams, ideally in both B2C and B2B markets;
  • Used to work with and meet clear defined KPIs and being held accountable for the contribution of Marketing & Sales to meet business targets;
  • Solid verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Solid practical understanding of CRM systems (preferably Microsoft);
  • Fluency in Dutch and English;
  • Self-starter and team-worker;
  • Ability to lead a commercial team in an academic setting;
  • Ability to think analytically and translate strategy into actions;
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Offer:
The salary range for this specific position is € 5.000 – € 6.000 (scale 19) this is based on a fulltime employment. Part of the remuneration package is an end of the year target bonus. Ranking will be based on education and working experience. Furthermore, the RSM BV has excellent secondary benefits.
